BLAST

BLAST recuperation units with counterflow heat exchangers are highly efficient heat recovery units designed for mechanical ventilation systems in residential and commercial buildings, as well as in single-family houses. They are based on modern technical, technological and material solutions.

BLAST ventilation units are used in energy-efficient and passive buildings and provide fresh and clean air inside the building by systematic and continuous exchange of stale air for fresh air. 

BLAST series of compact, standing plug-and-play units is available in 2 basic sizes with capacity of 360 m3/h and 630 m3/h. It is characterized by the following features, among others:

  • A robust casing construction based on injection-molded foamed polypropylene, combined with a modern, timeless design;
  • An innovative frost protection system to minimize energy consumption in the event of frost in the heat exchanger;
  • Wi-Fi module in the control unit, which allows remote control of the unit via a phone, tablet or computer;
  • Setting of the unit's operating modes according to an individually programmed calendar;
  • Compliance with the requirements of the "Clean Air" program, class A/A+;
  • Dedicated inspection panels for easy access to the unit's components, including filters for their replacement

The latest BLAST compact recuperation unit with a capacity of 180 m3/h is designed as a suspended unit and can operate in a horizontal ceiling or vertical/wall-mounted position.

Casing

The enclosure of the BLAST unit is made of injection-molded, foamed polypropylene. The outer part of the enclosure is made of galvanized sheet steel, painted in RAL 9010.

 Specially designed control panel structure, including the internal geometry allowed to:

- Achieve very good thermal insulation,

- Eliminate thermal bridges,

- No risk of condensation on the walls of the unit,

- Reduce pressure losses in the air handling unit,

- Achieve very good sound insulation,

- Use of a four-sided, self-cleaning condensate drip tray,  

- Aesthetically pleasing, modern exterior.

Enclosure components can be easily disassembled to provide access to control panel components for ease of operation and service.

The control unit comes standard with a wall mounting bracket and feet in the Standard version. DECOR feet are available as an option.

Fan Set

Energy-efficient direct-drive radial-axis fans with EC motors are used. With the use of a pressure transducer (optional), the function of maintaining constant volume and mass flow independently for supply and exhaust is possible.

Heat recovery exchanger

The air handling unit utilizes a counterflow aluminum recovery exchanger with an automatic sealed bypass. The exchanger features high efficiency (up to 92%) and increased mechanical strength compared to plastic exchangers. It effectively separates supply and exhaust air streams. The exchanger is designed for easy disassembly for cleaning. It meets strict hygienic requirements. The heat exchangers used are certified according to Eurovent and VDI 6022.

Filters

Filters are disposable and replaceable. Special inspection panels for easy access to filters for filter replacement.

The BLAST air handling unit is standard equipped with ePM1050% (M5) class filters. Optionally, an ePM160% (F7) filter can be used on the supply air.

The filters are made with mini-pleat technology, have a large filtration area, low resistance, increased dust absorption and therefore can have a longer service life.

The filtration system used effectively separates particulate matter, which is a component of the particulate matter of popular smog.

Heater

The BLAST air handling unit is equipped with an electric preheater, which has an antifreeze function. The power of the heater is continuously controlled by PWM signal. The heater is activated when the pressure drop across the recovery exchanger increases. At each stage of the exchanger's operation, the pressure control points are checked, so that in the event of fin frost, the electric heater is controlled according to the degree of frost. The applied defrosting system allows optimal use of the heater's operation and power, prevents the possibility of excessive frosting of the exchanger, which consequently affects the minimization of energy consumption costs.

By-pass

The air handling unit is equipped as standard with a bypass, which is an automatically controlled system of tight, counter-rotating dampers. This solution makes it possible to realize the so-called free cooling function - free cooling of rooms with outside air. We can use free cooling, for example, in summer when the air temperature in the room is too high and the outside air is pleasantly cool.

Connections

The connection spigots are made of galvanized sheet steel with rubber gasket, diameter ø200mm. They are standard equipment of the air handling unit. They are attached to the air handling unit and their installation to the unit is done by the so-called push-in method. Appropriately profiled holes in the air handling unit and the seals used ensure a tight connection between the spigot and the air handling unit.

The BLAST air handling unit is designed to be connected to the ventilation system with spigots pointing upwards or sideways. For directional connection, use the appropriate elbow fittings with their own gaskets.

Power connection panel

The BLAST control panel is equipped with an easily accessible connection panel where there is a socket for plugging in the power cable and a socket for connecting a communication cable with a STANDARD or ADVANCE control transmitter. The standard power cable is 2 meters long. It is terminated on one end with a plug for direct connection to the unit and is unarmored on the power source side.

The communication cable is 2 m long, terminated on one end with stripped wires, ready for connection to the referencing-unit, and on the other end with an RJ-12 connector. If it is necessary to install the referencing-unit at a greater distance from the unit, the cable can be extended to a maximum of 50 m for proper operation.

Automation

The BLAST control panel is supplied in Plug & Play standard.

The automation of the panel consists of the main board of the controller and the connection strip module, which allows the connection of optional automation components. For the power supply of the automation expansion elements, there are two reference voltage sources 230VAC and 24VDC on the power strip module board. The location of the terminal strip module allows for easy service access. Connecting and activating additional automation elements is simple, even convenient. The user obtains a product that allows the recuperation unit to be expanded with additional elements (even after installation) without having to replace the boards, the transducer or the application.

Automation

Referencing-units

There are two room referencing-units available: "Standard" and "Advance"- 4.3".

The referencing-units have a built-in Wi-Fi module. This makes it possible to remotely control the operation of the recuperator using a phone, tablet, or computer via www.acs.klimor.com. It is also possible to connect an external Internet module via the RS socket in the main module of the unit. Communication with the BMS is possible using the Modbus RTU protocol.

The referencing-units are suitable for wall and flush mounting using a box.

With the help of an intuitive menu, it is possible to view and control all necessary operating parameters (temperature, humidity, filter status, air quality sensor data, alarm status, fan control level, recovery status and others).
