Klimor awarded the Microsoft Software Asset Management certificate

Klimor has successfully completed the verification process of implemented IT solutions known as Microsoft Software Asset Management (SAM). The Microsoft/SAM certificate was officially presented in Q2 2021 with the participation of process partners – representatives of Microsoft and Auditoria.

The Auditoria company, a recognised Microsoft partner, assisted in the auditing process concerning the legality and operational compliance of the existing licensing and management procedures. The positive result of the audit enabled Klimor to be awarded the Microsoft/SAM license compliance certificate, which was officially presented on 15 July 2021 at the company’s headquarters in Gdynia. The certificate was bestowed upon Marek Kupiec, President of the Management Board of Klimor, and Andrzej Wójtowicz, IT & Administration Director at Klima-Therm Group, who supervised the project on behalf of Klimor. It was presented by Katarzyna Człowiekowska, Partner Development Manager at Microsoft, in the presence of Marcin Wojna, representative of Auditoria.

The main objective of implementing the Microsoft/SAM control system is to provide the company with full legal and technological security, as well as to optimise software costs and boost the level of data security. The process of periodic verification of license compliance has also been implemented at Klima-Therm – Klimor’s parent company; therefore, both entities included in Klima-Therm Group can now boast the ownership of the prestigious certificate confirming the application of best practices according to standards specified in Microsoft Software Asset Management procedures.

- Klima-Therm Group’s scale of operations and its distributed network of offices and branches – which includes as many as 13 locations in Poland – necessitate an effective system for managing its resources, including the IT infrastructure – explains Andrzej Wójtowicz, IT & Administration Director at Klima-Therm Group. -Thanks to the implementation of comprehensive software management processes and optimisation of licenses, we can now ensure that our resources are accurately monitored and suitably adapted to current demands. Efficient supervision over IT infrastructure, especially one as extensive as ours, is an essential element of effective budget management and helps to avoid risks associated with incurring unnecessary and uncontrollable costs – emphasises Andrzej Wójtowicz.

As in the case of the equivalent project carried out for Klima-Therm, Auditoria – an experienced Microsoft Partner in the area of Software Asset Management in Poland, a repeat winner of the title of the Partner of the Year, was also selected to carry out the SAM license compliance process in Klimor. The project was divided into three stages. First of all, full verification of license compliance of the software was performed. In the next step, the existing processes and procedures in the company were reviewed, in particular: software planning, purchasing, implementation, management and withdrawal. The last phase of the project included consulting on further investments in new technologies, thanks to which Klima-Therm Group will be setting new IT standards in the HVACR industry.
