NSL laminar flow diffusers are highly specialized devices designed to supply purified air to operating rooms and to protected rooms and zones with defined and controlled levels of pollution. They are highly reliable, which guarantees their long-term use. They allow to maintain dust and microbiological purity at the right level.
NSL diffusers have been designed and manufactured according to the strict requirements of regulations and standards for hospitals and clean rooms.
The airtight housing is made of stainless steel, the internal surfaces are smooth, resistant to disinfectants. It is equipped with tightly mounted filters. The HEPA filters are fixed to the diffuser casing with the hanging brackets. The supply air laminator is an easily removable perforated sheet cover (fabric laminator - optional).
The diffuser is normally equipped with differential pressure measuring connections to determine the cleanliness of the HEPA filters and connections to measure the aerosol concentration during validation. The filtration unit consists of absolute H13 filters with filtration efficiency of 99.95% (according to PN-EN 1822-1:2019-05), confirmed by the manufacturer’s quality certificate. On request, filters E11 or H14 can be installed in diffusers.
There is the so-called “passageway” of the operating lamp column in the diffuser, which ends with a split masking cover
with a ø125 mm diameter hole in the middle. During the installation in the operating room, the diffuser should be positioned centrally in relation to the shadeless lamp. This should ensure the tightness of the masking cover installation.
NSL diffusers supply the air purified with HEPA absolute filters into the protected area. The air from the diffuser supply system spreads throughout the entire upper part of the diffuser after passing through the supply manifold. Then, as a result of the overpressure maintained by the resistance generated by the filters and the laminar device, the air flows out evenly towards the operating table area or other specially protected zone.
Correct positioning of the air filters over the entire supply air surface plays a significant role in the laminar air exhaust from an evenly spaced diffuser in the 0.2 to 0.3 m/s range. To keep the laminar jet stable, the recommended speed should not be less than 0.2 m/s. This type of air supply meets the highest hygiene requirements. Characteristic feature of the NSL diffusers is the uniform air flow rate, low flow resistance and extended service life of absolute filters. With the systematic replacement in the air conditioning unit and appropriate control, the service life of HEPA filters in the AHU can be extended to 3 years. Pressure switch indications should be controlled – the doubled initial resistance is a signal to replace the high performance filters. It is important to remember about the control of dust and microbiological purity, performed as part of the hygiene control procedure in the hospital.
